UCR is the leading university in Costa Rica. It has more than 41.000 students and 8.452 Hm² around the country, 7 regional campuses and 5 branches. It has 13 faculties, 46 schools, 82 auditoriums, 1058 labs, 22 libraries, 48 research units, 6 museums, 21 experimental stations, farms and natural reserves, and 1planetarium. It offers 190 BA Programs, 76 specializations, 166 Licenciate Degrees, 12 PhD programs, 90 professional Master’s Programs and 81 Academic Master’s Programs. It has 1.436 research projects, 1766 researchers, and 49 journals. It offers more than 1.000.000 hours or community service. It has more than 400 agreements with 224 institutions abroad. It has a scholarship program to support postgraduate studies abroad for its faculty and staff members. Through its Visiting Scholars Program UCR invites more than 200 professors from abroad anually. It also supports and promotes the continuous exchange of an average of over 400 students annually and has an active participation international project.
